Carmels

4 cups sugar
2 cups corn syrup
1 1/2 cups half and half
1 cup whipping cream
2 cups nuts, if desired
1 cube margarine
1 can bordens condensed milk
dash of salt
2 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients except vanilla.  Cook approximately one hour on medium heat.  Stir constantly add vanilla after taking from stove.  Test in Ice water to form firm ball.
